Introducing the New My Energy Future Website

We’re proud to announce the launch of the new My Energy Future website, a refreshed digital hub designed to inspire and inform young people about the world of energy, STEM and the career opportunities shaping a sustainable future.

My Energy Future, powered by OPITO, is OPITO's flagship STEM initiative, created to connect with young people aged 13–18 and help them explore how energy works, how it impacts everyday life, and how they could build a future within this fast‑evolving global industry.

As the global, not‑for‑profit skills authority for safety‑critical industries, OPITO reinvests its revenues into developing the workforce of tomorrow. My Energy Future plays a vital role in this mission, supporting young people to understand the opportunities emerging across the energy transition and encouraging them to imagine themselves as part of the solution.

A Go‑To Hub for Energy, STEM and Future Careers

The new My Energy Future website has been designed as an accessible, engaging resource that brings together information on:

  • how today’s energy system works
  • the science and technology powering the energy mix
  • how energy connects to the world around us
  • the wide range of career pathways available across the sector

Whether a young person is just beginning to explore STEM subjects or actively thinking about future study and career choices, the website supports exploration at every stage.

Content across the site is structured around four key areas:

  • Discover the World of Energy – exploring energy systems, technologies and their role in society.
  • Find Your Path – showcasing routes into energy careers, qualifications and next steps.
  • My Energy Future Champions – real stories from people across the industry.
  • Get Involved – opportunities to engage through events, activities and challenges.

Together, these sections help young people move from curiosity to confidence, reinforcing that there is no single pathway and no single type of person needed to succeed in energy.

Championing Real People, Real Pathways, Real Impact

A key feature of the new website is its dedicated space for the My Energy Future Champions programme

The My Energy Future Champions are a diverse group of emerging talent representing the future of the energy workforce across Asia‑Pacific, the Middle East & Africa, North America, and the UK & Europe.

The Champions include students, apprentices, early‑career professionals and researchers working across engineering, operations, renewables, oil and gas, hydrogen, digital innovation, workforce development and academia. Representing countries including Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Nigeria, Germany and the United Kingdom, they reflect the truly global and evolving nature of the energy industry.

Throughout 2026, Champions will share their experiences, career journeys and insights through digital content, events and engagement activity. By amplifying real stories from real people, the programme aims to challenge misconceptions about the energy sector and make career opportunities feel more visible, relatable and achievable for young people everywhere.

Bringing the Future of Energy to Life

The My Energy Future website works hand in hand with My Energy Future Live – our programme of regional STEM outreach events and partnerships delivered globally.

Through hands‑on activities and challenges, young people are supported to see how classroom learning connects to real‑world innovation and future jobs. These experiences bring the future of energy to life in a practical, engaging and personal way.

Alongside digital content and live engagement, My Energy Future seeks to excite, inspire and inform, helping young people understand how their interests, skills and ambitions could contribute to a safe, skilled and sustainable energy future.

Get Involved

We encourage you to explore the new My Energy Future website and support its mission to inspire the next generation.

There are several ways to get involved:

By working together, we can empower more young people to begin their own energy journey and help build the skilled workforce needed to deliver the global energy transition.
