For Centres
Your partner for energy skills worldwide
For over 50 years, OPITO has been improving the safety and competence of the energy workforce by setting global standards and qualifications.
Today, there are over 500,000 OPITO registrations every year globally. With a growing standards portfolio that anticipates future skills demand, we continue to respond to the needs of industry and our network of approved centres worldwide.
Supporting continuous improvement
OPITO undertakes a quality assurance role through our robust approval and monitoring processes. These are designed to ensure that every OPITO approved centre delivers a consistently high level of training to learners.
From the safety critical BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety and Induction Emergency Training), through to our specialist skills training in emergency response, and technical skills such as lifting, OPITO’s internationally recognised training standards and qualifications cover a wide range of disciplines.
Our network of centres can access a diverse and exciting portfolio that includes:
Training and Assessment Standards
In collaboration with industry, OPITO identifies the need for new and improved Training and Assessment Standards. Our standards are recognised globally, and approved centres deliver training to comply with these standards.
Workplace Competence Assessment Standards
OPITO approved centres can deliver a range of OPITO Workplace Competence Assessment Standards. Developed in collaboration with the energy industry, these standards help to ensure that certified learners can demonstrate continued workplace competence against globally recognised standards.
Global Qualifications library
OPITO offers a wide range of Global Qualifications. These qualifications, such as certificates and diplomas, can be delivered through OPITO approved centres, while vocational qualifications are more commonly delivered via employers in the workplace.
OPITO Competence Management System
OPITO approval of an organisation’s Competence Management System (CMS) ensures that all approved CMS organisations meet minimum industry standards.
Centre and industry forums
Our centre and industry forums support our diversification strategy. These forums are intended to ensure that we are best placed to identify updates, adjustments and enhancements required to ensure our portfolio of industry standards remain applicable across all parts of the energy sector.
