OPITO Training Diploma: Small Bore Tubing Installation, Inspection and Maintenance

This qualification is designed for personnel involved in the installation, maintenance, inspection, and testing of small bore tubing systems in offshore and industrial environments. It is suitable for individuals working in: • Mechanical maintenance and installation roles • Integrity and inspection functions • Process and production environments • Oil & gas, renewables, and wider industrial sectors The qualification supports learners who are required to: • Install and maintain small bore tubing systems • Inspect systems for defects, damage, and integrity risks • Conduct pressure testing and verification activities • Work in accordance with engineering specifications and procedures • Complete documentation, reporting, and handover activities

The qualification covers the following areas: • Preparation and planning of small bore tubing work activities • Measurement, marking, cutting, and preparation of tubing • Tube bending and forming operations • Assembly and installation of compression fittings • Maintenance activities and defect rectification • Inspection of tubing systems for wear, corrosion, and defects • Preparation for testing activities • Pressure testing (hydrostatic and pneumatic) • Verification of system integrity and compliance • Interpretation of engineering drawings, schematics, and OEM documentation • Application of company procedures and safe systems of work • Documentation, reporting, and handover activities

Entry is at the discretion of OPITO Learners should be in a job or placement where they are carrying out relevant tasks and responsibilities which allow then to gather the required evidence.
