Minimum Industry Safety Training Further Standard

This Product is for experienced offshore workers to renew their MIST certification every four years.

This Product includes assessment and content on five key areas: Major Accident Hazards, Workplace Hazards and Personal Safety, Risk Management, Control of Work and Helicopter Safety.

 Learners must possess:

a) A valid OPITO MIST Initial or valid OPITO MIST Further training certificate.

Or

b) A valid Vantage POB number And

c)Have previously worked offshore in the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) or Internationally*

*Learners are required to complete a declaration prior to course commencement confirming prior offshore work experience, including details of their last offshore trip, to include asset name, location and dates.

To achieve the OPITO Minimum Industry Safety Further Training, the learner will need to complete the 5 mandatory units.

Major Accident Hazards - 120 minutes. 

Workplace Hazards and Personal Safety - 270 minutes.

Risk Management - 180 minutes.

Control of Work - 60 minutes. 

Helicopter Safety - 90 minutes.

Please note: If the expiry date on the learners previous certificate is within 3 months prior of the course enrolment date then the date of the new certificate should correspond with the expiry date of the existing/previous certificate unless stated otherwise by the Duty Holder or Asset Owner or Operator.
