International Minimum Industry Safety Training (IMIST) Further Standard

This Product is for experienced offshore workers to renew their IMIST certification every four years.

This Product covers the key safety elements required by all employees working in the energy industry. It also ensures the knowledge and understanding of these basic safety elements are maintained and current amongst the existing workforce

 Learners must possess:

a) A valid OPITO IMIST Initial or valid OPITO IMIST Further training certificate.

Or

b) A valid Vantage POB number And

c)Have previously worked offshore*

*Learners are required to complete a declaration prior to course commencement confirming prior offshore work experience, including details of their last offshore trip, to include asset name, location and dates.

To achieve the OPITO Oil & Gas Industry International Minimum Industry Safety Training (IMIST) Further, the learner will need to complete the 9 mandatory units.

Please note: If the expiry date on the learners previous certificate is within 3 months prior of the course enrolment date then the date of the new certificate should correspond with the expiry date of the existing/previous certificate unless stated otherwise by the Duty Holder or Asset Owner or Operator.
