Helicopter Administrator Workplace Competence Assessment Standard

This Product is for personnel who are required to be assessed against the role requirements during Helicopter Administrator (Heli Admin) operations.

Training and competence assessment of OPITO-approved Heli Admin will comprise both onshore training and offshore workplace training and assessment. This Heli Admin Training Standard forms part of a wider industry Helideck Training and Competence Framework including helideck operations initial training, helideck emergency response team member and team leader initial/further training and associated helideck role workplace competence assessment standards. If a learner is unsuccessful in completing the Helicopter Administrator Workplace Competence Assessment then they will be required to undertake the Helicopter Administrator Training Standard.

This Product is to formally assess the competence of the candidate involved in helicopter administration activities.

The objectives of the assessment are for the candidate to demonstrate competence in the practical skills and knowledge required for providing the administrative support required to efficiently operate the helideck and manage helicopter movements

As a minimum, learners must have completed Dangerous Goods by Air training course in accordance with Part 1, Chapter 1.4 of the ICAO Technical Instructions and sub section 1.5 of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, Functions 7.2, 7.4 and 7.5, previously categories 7, 8 or 9 or state aviation approved dangerous goods awareness training course

And

Training on a personnel tracking system

And

Helicopter Administrator Training Standard, only if they have not successfully completed a workplace competence assessment in the last two years.

The learner must successfully achieve all 5 units

However, sufficient time and access to candidates must be arranged to ensure that all required outcomes and criteria can be suitably assessed.
