The aim and objectives of the OPITO Stage 3 competence assessment are to establish that the candidate has the required underpinning knowledge, understanding and practical skills to fulfil the role of Rigger safely and effectively.
The target group for the Rigger Competence Stage 3 assessment is personnel who wish to become an OPITO-certified competent rigger.
Delegates must hold a valid OPITO approved Stage 1 Rigger Training Certificate and a fully completed, valid log-book based on the OPITO Stage 2 Rigger Standard workplace requirements. A formal letter can be submitted from a candidates employer stating that they have met the equivalent of the Stage 2 experience, for candidates who do not hold valid certification.
