The Major Emergency Management Initial Response (MEMIR) for Renewable Energy (Wind) provides a standardised approach to initial training for personnel who are either in charge of, are members of, or provide support to an emergency management team.
Learners are required to manage a range of emergency situations from a simulated emergency coordination centre. Following the training, the learner will receive an OPIT approved certificate and a performance appraisal, detailing knowledge and performance gaps identified.
Additional training may be provided by the employer to build capability or, where appropriate, employers may progress learners to formal competence assessment in the role of Emergency Coordinator. This can be achieved using the OPITO Emergency Coordinator for Renewable Energy (Wind) Standard.
